Tinubu, Nigeria’s Most Civil, Tolerant Leader – Rep Oluwole Oke
The member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State in the House of Representatives, Oluwole Oke, has praised President Bola Tinubu as “the most civil and tolerant President Nigeria has ever had,” marking the President’s second year in office.
In a statement released on Friday, Oke, who chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, highlighted the Tinubu administration’s respect for fundamental human rights and its departure from past governance styles characterized by harassment and persecution.
Despite facing criticism from opposition parties, members within his own All Progressives Congress (APC), and even from the President’s South West base, no individual under Tinubu’s leadership has reportedly faced persecution.
Oke also lauded the President’s economic reforms, particularly the bold removal of the petroleum subsidy. He described this move as a courageous effort that dismantled entrenched interests, ensuring that public revenues are properly allocated to the federation account and distributed fairly in accordance with the Nigerian Constitution.
Youth empowerment has been a key focus of the administration, according to Oke. He pointed to the establishment of the Students Loan Fund and the appointment of an unprecedented number of young Nigerians into ministerial and leadership roles across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) as historic achievements unmatched by previous administrations.
On the international front, Oke commended Tinubu’s diplomatic successes, including securing a $2.5 billion agricultural investment from Brazil. These achievements, he noted, have restored Nigeria’s credibility globally and contributed to the country’s removal from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) debtor list.
The lawmaker further praised the President’s commitment to peace, his support for traditional and religious leaders, his respect for the independence of anti-corruption agencies, and ongoing reforms in the nation’s security architecture. “Security is a shared responsibility,” Oke emphasized, calling on citizens to back government efforts to secure the country.
Additionally, Oke noted that Nigerian workers have benefited from wage increases during Tinubu’s tenure, highlighting the administration’s focus on improving the livelihoods of citizens.
“On all fronts—economy, rights, education, diplomacy, security, and governance—Mr. President has delivered and continues to lead with courage and compassion. He is truly the father of a new Nigeria,” Oke concluded.
As Nigeria reflects on two years of Tinubu’s presidency, these endorsements from key lawmakers underscore a narrative of stability, reform, and progress under his leadership.
